Social Value Creation within Nepali Social Enterprises
📋Abstract
The profit making and non-profit making organizations have placed greater importance in creating social values while they create economic values for their enterprises. Social enterprises aim to address social issues with a business model and create social values. Social enterprises address social issues with a business model. This paper attempts to understand Nepalese social organizations and their efforts in creating social values. This study examines to what extend the social corporate entrepreneurship scale (SCES) being applied by the social organizations and whether they are able to generate social values along with economic values. This study identifies seven dimensions namely social proactiveness, firm transparency, stakeholder salience, rewards, governance, management support and resources. The findings of this study are instrumental in developing SCES models in Nepalese context. In order to increase social value creation, an organization needs to align its strategies with its social missions and ensure financial sustainability. The findings of the study emphasized the role of good governance, resource mobilization, and social proactiveness in addressing social problems are fundamental in delivering social values to the society.
